SHADY280
hey i got some su carbs laying around, and i found a 1600 fairlady intake for sale on ebay (please dont bid on it 2 days left) and wondering if itll fit the 1800. i hate my webber and figure the su's are a bit of an upgrade. they look cooler at least. does anyone know if they will make any better power, or just run better, cause both could sure help. i just cant tune this dang webber, so im considering my options. datsunaholic
No, the Roadster intakes do NOT fit L-series engines. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If you are referring to the Roadster intake it won't fit the L18. Different motor. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
dang it, good thing i didnt bid, so how the heck can these su's fit my engine then? is there such an intake. im a noob at these L 4 bangers Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Yes, there is a L-series SU intake. Was used on JDM L13, L16, and L18 engines, as well as European market ones. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
No, the Roadster intakes do NOT fit L-series engines. It doesn't bolt right on, but it will "fit". ;) But it takes enough modification that it's easier to buy an L16SSS or L18SSS intake, unless you're also using Roadster carbs. Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
what doesnt that guy have??? i have pm'ed in the past with no answer, so maybe this time itll work. ;) Seems Jeff has been pretty absent here lately. I'd call. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
he pm'ed me, its like $175 with carbs, a big ouch for me, all i need was the intake, cause i got carbs. he prolly wants to sell the whole thing, and knows what its worth!! Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
$175 for a set of SUs on a manifold, with linkage, is low average. The bare manifolds alone usually run over $100. Quote Link to comment
RacnJsn95
I don't think that's a bad deal, especially if it's got all the linkage and stuff... If you buy a bare manifold, and use your carbs, I think it will be even harder for you to just find the correct linkage for them. I bought a complete preemo set of L4 Su's complete for $200 about a year ago. Quote Link to comment
