skyblue
Hi everyone, I'm new to ratsun. Found it researching my first 521. I've always loved Datsun and mainly rolled 510's, but I've always wanted a 521. Finally found one and it's not only my first 521 but my first truck ever as well. So here as some images for your pleasure. enjoy Quote Link to comment

skyblue
Quick photoshop of how low I would like to have it. Probably can't go this low with just torsions bars and blocks right? [/url] And here's the stock height for reference. 3/4 view Quote Link to comment

Not use to seeing a B&M shifter what's it got under the hood? yea the shifter was on their when i bought it. don't like it too much. I have an old Datsun one that i had on there but the knob came unglued from the base so i put the B&M back on till I get some epoxy to stick back on. It has an L16 with a peanut head and a weber 32/36. I wanna throw a single sidedraft 40 on there, but that will come much later. For know i gotta figure out why i keep losing spark intermittently when i'm driving. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Have you replaced the points? They could be worn out. Check the wires to the ballast resister and the coil for looseness. Wiggle them while it's running to see if it cuts out. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Damm i miss my 521 now :D You have a clean & straight truck! I had my 521 dropped 5-6 inches. I re-keyed the torsions & ran 3 inch blocks & ran 2 leafs. You'll want to "C" notch the frame unless you dont mind the frame hitting the axle  Quote Link to comment

I usually use pertronix, and it works great. is the ballast resister the white thing under the coil? Quote Link to comment

When you say "re-keyed" is that the same as re-indexing? how was the ride? Quote Link to comment
