The bearing mounts on the machined dia at the bottom and the spring clip holds the throwout arm's fingers against the tab to hold position and keep down the rattling......and to pull it away from the clutch fingers slightly at full release. I installed a 280zx one in my 510(L16) when I was young(wrong part from the box or part store) had to pull the tranny again. Quote Link to comment
