SHADY280 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Share Posted February 16, 2008 the fuel pump will make noise, when you turn the key on it primes the system, and when it hits 38 psi or so, it shuts off, test the pressure b4 replacing an expensive part. to really adjust a afm, you gotta take the large black cover off, not just the little idle air bypass screw adjusting plug. i gotta find the link for this thing for you. boomstickracing Posted February 16, 2008 Report Share Posted February 16, 2008 thank you very much......i'm gonna do that today and see what happens.the fuel pump was only $100.a buddie of mine had a 78 280 and his pump went out in a skippers parking lot.....i replaced it right there and afterwords he said it was faster then ever so i might as well replace it.
