Rhapakatui
Long story alert!...But still... TLDR version: I made a "Bug Out" tote for my 5.56 rifles. John has pictures. Looks cool. What's it weigh, roughly? Quote Link to comment
dimlight65
I bet that's a heavy box. Yeah, quite! Looks cool. What's it weigh, roughly? Somewhere between a metric buttload and a shit-ton. I'm a bit afeared to weigh it, actually... but I guess I will. Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
I don't think there is a weight limit for carry-on. But there is a LxWxH absolute limit and a "put it in this bucket" test at the boarding gate. BTW, are you not aware of the prohibition against carrying weapons on board in the passenger compartment? Check it as baggage with the mandatory "Steal me first" weapons red tag, 1 Quote Link to comment

Check it as baggage with the mandatory "Steal me first" weapons red tag, This was more of a "What can I do with this old case?" experiment than trying to make anything actually useful. Having said that, I'm now calling it my S.W.A.T tote. And I still haven't weighed it yet. Ok, ok, I'll go do that now. Sheesh! Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Big red tag that says FIREARM on it so the shady ass baggage handlers exactly what they're stealing. Quote Link to comment
dimlight65
Ok, it isn't as bad as I thought: 40 pounds empty and 77 pounds loaded. Quote Link to comment
dimlight65
I really dig this one... B) Ok, I will amend my will to reflect that. 2 Quote Link to comment

Dguy210
Trying to decide on what next: M9A1 or 1911 in .45. I'll probably end up with both eventually either way though.... Quote Link to comment

I've never owned an actual Beretta 92 (or M9) but I have had 1911s and Taurus PT92s. Love them both. Here's my only real problem with the Beretta: slide mounted safety. So, my advice on which one to get first: Start with the one for which you already have ammo, or more ammo. Quote Link to comment

Yeah the safety wasn't my favorite either, but I have a crap ton of 9mm at home and nothing currently in .45. So I guess that would be the better route. Quote Link to comment
Skib
I loved my PT92, great pistol Quote Link to comment

TENDRIL
cant get em in CA, unless pre- ban i wanted the pt92 over the Beretta, but i opted for the Beretta. should be able to get it in OR tho. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Just spent a few days working at Quatsino Sound. It's almost two hours by logging road from Port Alice. Somewhat remote and we saw black bears daily. Had several rifles but... Fold out bayonet too. 3 Quote Link to comment
