Already have other pistols.. but the .380 seems like an easy pocket/conceal carry. xd9 is a bit too bulky.. p22 is well.. a 22.

I’m fairly fat, a sig p220 .45acp is a viable option for me. My CZ75 P-01 straight disappears, and it’s a real 9mm. In my opinion, it’s more about the holster than the firearm when it comes to concealment. I’ve seen a 165lb dude pull a full size 1911 that I would’ve sworn he couldn’t couldn’t conceal.

It's all about the holster, I has a shit holster for my s&w 642 and it printed and that's a small pistol. I have with a good holster and a medium jacket consealed my full size usp .45 so anything is possible with the right gear. I'm also a fucking bean pole so not a lot of meat to help hide something.

IWI had a range day at Defender Outdoors to show off a couple new, and some older, guns.  I test drove the new Tavor 7.  It's very nice!  I went to try out the new Tavor TS12 but the range wasn't having any of those shenanigans.  Just from handling the TS12 (and shooting the 7, my SAR, and my friend's X-95) I know I want one.  I've got a couple months to save up before they start shipping, so maybe I won't have to sell the Saiga 12 to finance it.  We'll see.

Now they are making a conversion for the Hi-Point carbines... or will be in the near future.  Yeah, yeah, ok, I got the e-mail today saying that those of us who signed up for the waiting list way back when, could order our stocks!  I debated FDE but decided on basic black.  Hopefully it will be here before the weekend so I can install it.

Well that sure doesn't look like a black stock.

Yeah, the lighting in the shop is really weird.

Ok ok, right after I posted that, I called Hightower and changed my order from black to FDE.  I had a good reason at the time, but can't remember it right now.

Ha! There is no good reason unless you work for a private security agency in the Middle East. And if so, you better have a better gun. Otherwise, target practice doesn't care what color you spend money on.

The USA Constitution has no "good reason" to affirm the preexisting right to keep bear and possess arms.  Note that the second amendment to the US Constitution prohibits "Infringement" not just just more excessive abridgement of the PREEXISTING right.  Something idiot lawyers should read before they make even more fools of themselves for the simple failure to be able to read plain English grammar !

Court victory legalizes 3D-printable gun blueprints

A multi-year legal battle over the ability to distribute computer models of gun parts and replicate them in 3D printers has ended in defeat for government authorities who sought to prevent the practice. Cody Wilson, the gunmaker and free speech advocate behind the lawsuit, now intends to expand his operations, providing printable gun blueprints to all who desire them.

The longer story of the lawsuit is well told by Andy Greenberg over at Wired, but the decision is eloquent on its own. The fundamental question is whether making 3D models of gun components available online is covered by the free speech rights granted by the First Amendment.

This is a timely but complex conflict because it touches on two themes that happen to be, for many, ethically contradictory. Arguments for tighter restrictions on firearms are, in this case, directly opposed to arguments for the unfettered exchange of information on the internet. It’s hard to advocate for both here: restricting firearms and restricting free speech are one and.....

Best part about the 3D case is in the settlement, the DOJ acknowledges that assault weapons are by nature full auto capable, and that semiautomatics are not inherently military like weapons. It’s a nice little bit of 2A affirmation that may be helpful in the future after Kavanaugh gets confirmed.

Well as I have a love for old weird firearms, I recently found a 1920 Remington Model 10-A at what seemed like a decent price. Have it on hold as it was 5 minutes before closing.

Edit: Now mine. In great shape too. 30" full choke, bluing and wood are in extremely good shape and it appears to function properly.

Given the age I'll probably use it more of as a display piece then something I'm going to use often though. Will likely do a fire test with a light load from distance just to check function.

Backpacking rifle:

I've almost bought one of those a couple times. Just couldn't quite bring myself to splash down the cash for it. I've heard the latest gen has some breakage issues. Might still pick one up in the future still, it definitely fits my odd gun need.

Can't speak to the gen2 but I was lucky enough to preorder a gen1 before they were sold out forever a good 7-8 years ago now. I've put probably 5k 9mm rounds though it since then and I've really enjoyed it as a little point and plinker.

I've yet to actually see a gen2 in the wild. Just the gen1 (lightly used) at my old LGS in the Glock 19 mags I believe. Honestly, Glock 17 or the Beretta 92 and I'd probably have bought it as I already have both. Ugh, might have to move it on to the to buy list.

If you do buy one the only thing that I can complain about is the charging handle is uncomfortable to use if you're using the gun a lot.  There are many aftermarket styles you can get to improve it, or I got one of these:

Update to my earlier list.

Bought a SCCY 9mm for the wife. (she wanted a teal gun cause it was cute go figure.)  Have to say though its a great gun.  Low price, great quality, and shoots beautifully.  We paid just over 300 for it thanks to the tax man.  Also I finally got me an Interarms ppk/s.  I traded a guy at work my S&W ppk/s for his Interarms one and 200 bucks.  Now I am just waiting on my buddy to cut the threads on the end of a PPS barrel so I can swap it on the Interarms PPK/S and its 007 time 😄  ATF Tax stamp is in and suppressor on the way!

if its the Sccy im thinking of, the trigger pull is insanely long.

two bros I know each bought one at the same time and one of them had his for like 2 weeks and his front sight popped off 😄

Unrelated but I am reminded of another dude I know, who has a M&P9 shield like mine but got one with thumb safety and put one of those cheap trigger kits in. He was telling me "Yeah, I put in this trigger and I had to file down part of the safety, so i guess I dont have a safety anymore"

Same guy also bought some gay bright green anodized metal stuff like rear cover, mag extension cover and bigger mag release button. The way he described to me how often his release gets tripped in the holster only made me picture his magazine flying across the room.
