It's a Aimpoint CompM2 red dot. Had it sitting around for years, finally get to use it on something. Not sure if I'll stick with it or go with a Nikon p-223.

thanks for tip on the grip, I'll pick one up. Also want to get a new hand guard.

PSA is a shitty company. They take weeks and weeks to ship stuff that they claim is in stock.

I only buy stuff (well, used to, before MA sucked) from Primary Arms in Texas.

Hell yeah brother. I got a radical arms 10.5 pistol complete upper from Primary for $299, radical wanted $399 for same upper with a shitty hand guard. It’s been amazing for something so inexpensive.

What's the optic? Also, get a MOE-K2+ Magpul Grip, so much more comfortable than the generic one.

Magpul grip will change your life, but you’ll never want to shoot with anything else...ever. Also, if you haven’t tried them, pmags are bad assed.

Yes, I am...familiar with pmags, very very familiar.

I can get the 2nd gen 30 rounders for <10$ at my LGS all day long, and I see the 40s for not a heck of a lot more (I have quite a few from a sale <8$ a while back).

Not a big fan of the D60 though, I have one and it works just fine but is a total bitch to load.

For 10 rounders I have a bunch of Israeli metal mags I picked up years ago which are damn decent and cheap but pretty much sit in a box now (edit: e-lander mags).

That's a decent optic, not sure if I'd replace it with the Nikon.

Having said that, I bought a Nikon p-223 and they seem pretty decent, but I haven't gotten around to installing it. They go on sale at Cabela's all the time.

Yeah.. seems to be decent. I'll put some time on it and see how I feel.

I need to buy more.. more more more

Lol, picked up 3000 rnds of 22lr tonight for a very decent price and also some 9mm.

Not sure I need any more AR lowers at this point, as I already have...quite a few.

Seriously, I don't know how many I have, I kind of got into a bit of a mood a couple years back and was buying and making lowers as fast as I could trying several different methods.

Wanna hear something crazy?

A ways back (years) I panic bought 2 Anderson lowers for CHEAP. They were ordered online, shipped to an FFL (a local cop with a side business) and transferred to me legally. I never built them, so I never registered them with an FA-10 (MA paperwork BS), since you don't register the rifle until it is capable of discharging rounds.

A couple years go by and the MA attorney general decides to reinterpret the MA AWB and within about a week, the sale of AR-15 in MA is illegal. Completely. This isn't even CA. We can't get them AT ALL anymore. So now I've got these 2 lowers, which cannot be legally be built and registered, even though they were transferred to me via an FFL.

Now that's some BS.

Online vendors won't even ship to MA anymore. Basically nothing. No ammo, no AR parts, nothing.

Damn, I thought cali laws were fucked. I did a polymer 80 pistol build before the single shot exemption was killed even though I really don’t like the ar platform, it is a fun range toy. All my friends love their ARs although none can outshoot my hotrodded sks, which is still less expensive than most decent ARs.

What mags do you use on your hot rod ?

It’s the one thing I left stock, nothing loads and feeds as well as stock imho. I had to shell out for an American made trigger group to comply with the California parts game. I can load from a stripper clip faster than fucking with a fucked up duckbill anyway.

I was happy with the Tapco 20 poly mags, until I left a couple full in the gun case, and the lips cold flowed over a couple of years, and let all the rounds spit out....

I did my own trigger, with over travel stop.

Doesn't feel like I'm trying to drag one cement block over another with my index finger any longer.

Who makes the trigger group ?

Hadn't seen that.

I honestly can’t remember the name of the company, they didn’t last very long. They had finnish issues, the machining wasn’t a whole lot better than zastava. It was a nice two stage four lb pull, but part of the light pull was an overly light hammer spring. It wouldn’t reliably ignite the hard primers on the cans of wolf and tula I had, so I put a heavier spring in and got the reliability back but it went to about six lb pull. Still smooth, no creep, and it brakes cleanly.

Picked up a new grip as recommended and 2 more pmags.

Will look at a forward hand grip and maybe a bipod.

Where is a good place to buy bulk ammo online?

Online it varies. I've ordered from https://www.sgammo.com/ in the past and been happy. Picked up some 8mm surplus and some IMI 5.56 for decent prices a while back from them.

I buy most stuff at retail personally.

Cabela's has been the cheapest when you catch it on sale and stack the 20% reduced price gift cards. Got 7.62x39 Red Army for stupid cheap several times.

Walmart has been good for 22lr lately. Check brickseek for prices and inventory, also useful for price matching.

I usually just keep an eye out for what is going on sale using r/gundeals. Couple other deal sites and such out there but I don't use them much.
