Grabbed the pressure washer and my trusty cleaner, Black Maxx and soon had this lovely site....

After things dried for a bit, I whipped out my burnishing wheel and went to work removing minor surface rust, mainly along weld seams and where the spare tire was anchored...

Last shot after everything was scuffed, prepped with acetone and painted with VHT epoxy primer (Yota 5-lug axle in foreground and my cat ,Toot-Toot #2 in the back )...

I just don't like putting new parts on a dirty vehicle.

Today i planned on installing new parts but....last night..got the best of me   Besides, I haven't ordered shocks for the rear yet. Initially i had KYB MonoMax shocks for the rear, but they wound up on my daily Hardbody. I'll probably order more MonoMax shocks and hopefully they'll send me the 720 variant this time, instead of the D21 version.

I haven't updated this thread in a few, but I continue buying parts and doing little things such as refinishing brackets and buying new fasteners. I'm so committed to this build, I've been ignoring my ex's messagings (only have time, money and desire for my truck ATM).

Purchased some 3" lowering springs from eBay a while ago and a leaf-spring poly-bushing kit from ebay, but things didn't go smoothly...

Long story short, I used Street Edge lowering springs and it uses larger size leaf bushings in the back than what came stock in the Energy Suspension kit. Since it deviates from stock rear spring eyelets, I had to mod stock 720 shackle with a sleeve and reuse the kits rubber bushings, instead of the Energy polys. No big deal.

If i remember correctly, the weekend in which these Gas-A-Just shocks finally arrived, we kept getting intermittent showers due to hurricane Joaquin, so i didn't accomplish much.

(Pay no mind to 5-lug axle resting of springs, i'm stay 6-lug)

New U-bolts since i'm no-longer using drop blocks in the rear...

The rear was pre-loaded by my 200lb brother and then everything was torqued to spec and then torque striped (just like i do at work....minus the 200lb brother)...

 How it sits now...

Next weekend i hope to change the drums, rear wheel studs, lines and pads.

UNTIL THEN....

Minor Update:

My DD's transmission blew the other day, so that is where my time has been.

These did arrive the other day though....

Definitely gonna get these powder coated another color and new decals. Never liked the time-attack colour scheme.
