510 rear springs / roadster guys

This topic could be of use because its commonly asked what springs to use for the rear of a 510.
The 3 options I've came up with that seem most promising are roadster springs, dodge d50 springs or ording a pair from specialty engineering in canada.

I have 1 question for those of you who know about roadsters... These springs are a very good price and I'm wondering if you think its a legitimate deal because the price seems a little too fair

the roadster springs are okay, but I'm sure could be found cheaper if you looked.

I heard the roadster springs are pretty rare. (At least roadster comp, if there's a difference). But that was a while ago so maybe they've become easier to come by.

Another option is ford thunderbird springs. I'm not sure what years or style. I planned on looking into it more soon.
P-Town, have you stopped by Altered Motives yet? The guy with the white and rusty 510 has tbird springs, if he's there. Or Nelson will know.

The stock roadster springs are not very stiff. Most people installing roadster springs on a 510 rear want the Nissan Competition roadster springs.

I have heard that these are very good.

Also, I've determined, I'm not a hoarder, I'm a collector.
As I'm sure a lot of the old school datsun guys are.

Yep! The roadster comp ones are the ones you want. I don't think the stock ones like I posted a link to are a lot better than stock 510 springs.

Yeah the Tbird springs seem promising but i cant find the years or anything online. I havn't been to altered motives but i have their number and address saved in my phone. Ill call and check if anyone there knows.

Hey guy's I know this is an old thread but I'm doing the suspension on my 510 and I found that you can actually use 3rd gen 4 runner and tacoma FRONT springs in the REAR of you car. They have a 3 inch inner diameter a 5/8 coil diameter and they have an uncut spring rate of 590. They're long and will need to be cut down but that will land you with a significantly increased spring rate that will be anywhere from 675-875. Mine are 760 and roughly equates to 200 when divided by 3.8 (to factor in that the springs arent above the wheel center line. Give it a try those looking to make the rear stiff because these springs are plentiful and they fit well.

Here is another alternate.

 

Buy a 3" ID offroad coilover spring and cut it in half with a fiber cut-off wheel. For an 800# spring rate you buy a 400# spring. They come in 18" lengths, 9" when cut in half. Just add a spacer to adjust the ride height. 

 

The rates are in 50# increments from 400 to 700 plus 200, 300 & 800 rates (double that when cut).

80s front mustang springs work in the stock location and can be cut down to your ideal # rate.  fox body fronts
