So a few weeks ago the hood cable was forcibly retired after 45 years in service. I snagged a 300ZX hood release cable from ranman72 and came up with this, its nearly a perfect replacement if you're handy with screwdrivers and pliers. Its only slightly too long so I just looped the cable.

Funny story... Had a set of those vents with the twist dials like your car in our shop. Never knew what they came from. Now I do...

Also that inside cable pull looks like a good choice for a RHD conversion. Think just the flipper would work with the 510 cable? Looks like it would...

Something wonderful came in the mail today! Rebuilt 4.111 LSD =)

Then something terrible happened... Whilst removing my struts, a random act of asshole metallurgy happened, the threads self destructed... Took everything my lithium powered impact had to finally BUST THE NUT off....

Bought new balljoints, the 14mm ones under the impression that 6 years ago I had upgraded to later 510 steering arms... I guess i remembered wrong...

So now the car is totally tore apart, gonna be installing modified TC rods and new LCA bushings to provide caster.

PROTIP: Do not run any sort of grease in Techno Toy Tuning's top hat bearing system. I thought i was being clever doing so, and it just gummed them all up. After a bath in gasoline to dissolve the mess, they are back to new condition.

And now Gumby waits....

Took the Advice of Gabe at T3 and installed the struts with no bumpstops. I had problems in the past of hitting the huge ground control bumpers all the time.

Mock up, far from done...

TC rod mod as per Dave Carrol, allows caster gain, when paired with new NON POLY control arm bushings, allows for bind free caster adjustment. Like adjustable TC rods, for much less money!

Just sucks that the wagon has the handles in a different spot than the 4dr. Yeah, I know, there's no pleasing me...

I moved the handles on my doors. The inner skin has provisions for being either a wagon or sedan door, I just used some riv-nuts into the already there holes, and moved the handle down. Everything lines up perfect. Also adding the handle the sedans have for an armrest...

Damn... Lived my whole life not knowing this...

I know what I'm doing on my wagon now...

So the rod from the handle to the latch is the same length? Or you need some guts from a 4dr??
