If I'd do ift all over I'd do the filler work, lay some high build, block that, then shoot down some DP-40 to seal everything in. Helps if you ground your vehicle too. Quote Link to comment

wildmaninid Posted October 16, 2010 Report Share Posted October 16, 2010 Agreed, if you are going for the primer look, go get some flat black at the parts house............HOWEVER if you want a nice finish someday and are going to do it right, be prepared to remove all traces of the rattle can primer..... Laecaon Posted October 16, 2010 Report Share Posted October 16, 2010 As wildmaninid alluded to. Automotive paints do not work over rattle can (spray paints). They have a bad chemical reaction. If you have a spray gun, I would spray some epoxy primer to seal it. Mine turned out kinda glossy though... Anyways if you do rattle can it, Im pretty sure you can still spray epoxy sealer primer over it. Epoxy sticks to everything. Quote Link to comment
-rogue- Posted October 16, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 16, 2010 ya my dad called a body shop and they sell a primer and a hardener for 150 and he alson just looked at a regular metal primer that was cheaper but im thinking it would be best to save up and get the expensive primer. sinner720st Posted October 16, 2010 Report Share Posted October 16, 2010 not too experienced on the subject, but i think you should make sure its a primer sealer especially since you wont be throwing color on anytime soon... if yu dont use a sealer you may get rust from underneath the primer 1 Quote Link to comment
