This is from my 1970 PL-521 371684. If your serial nunber is close to mine they might be identical

From right to left, as the picture sits. Do not go from the trucks right to the trucks left.

10 amp fuse.

Gets power from Ignition switch. Blue wire with light green marker stripe, Green wire. Powers turn signals, reverse lights, power to the Combination meter. (fuel guage, temp guage) I think power for some on the emmision control relays system come from here, also.

10 amp fuse

Gets power from ignition switch. Blue wire with a red marker stripe. Supplys power for the heater fan, and the windshield wipers, and the windshield washer.

10 amp fuse

Always hot. Red wire with a black stripe. Supplys power to the tail lights, side marker lights, licence plate lights.

20 Amp fuse

Always hot. Light green wire with a red marker. Supplies power to the room light, the cigarette lighter, the clock, if you have that much desired option.

30 amp fuse

Always hot. Red wire. This thick wire goes to the headlights, through the headlight switch.

20 amp fuse

Always hot. Green with blue marker, and a green wire with a yellow marker. The green with the blue wire goes to the horn relay. The green with the yellow goes to the stoplight switch, and to the hazard (4-way flasher) flasher.

sorry, this is not a stock fusebox. This truck has an ammeter added to it, and a light relay that is used to bypass some headlight current from the light switch.

Fuses1.jpg

At the top of my fuse box in the picture, you can see a copper buss bar tying four fuses together, and then a short black loop of wire, with two red sleeves, tying two fuses together. The copper buss bar is always hot.

From the left, in my picture.

The white wire with the black sleeve on ot goes into the stock wiring harness. This wire goes to the ignition switch. This wire, and that one terminal on the ignition switch are always hot.

The white wire in the second spot, with the blue sleeve takes power to an extra added in headlight relay. Your truck probably does not have this.

The thick red wire with the yellow sleeve, in the third spot, goes to the positive post on the alternator.

The black wire with the dirty yellow sleeve goes to an ammeter in the cab.

There are two wires in the fifth, and sixth spots, under the short black loop, with the red sleeves. these wires are both black with a white stripe. One of these wires comes from the ignition switch, and supplies power to these two fuses when the key is on. The other black wire with the white stripe goes to your ignition coil, through a resistor. Both of these black wires with a white stripe go into the stock harness with the white wire in the second spot of the fuse box.

If you look above the fuse box, above the stock harness, above thr red wire that goes to the alternator you will see black wire that goes into a woven sleeve, with a small red tie wrap on it. This wire goes to the positive battery post. There is a screw and an eye inside this sleeve, and the stock wire from the battery orginally went to the copper bus bar, in place of the black wire with the dirty yellow sleeve.

The red wire with the yellow sleeve replaces a wire that went from the positive post on the alternator.

Orginally, a wire went from the alternator positive post just to the big terminal on the starter, where the starter cable hooked up. Power then went from the alternator, to the starter, into the starter cable, to the battery, and then to the copper buss bar on the fuse block.

I hope this helps you. feel free to ask more question, if you need to.

Steve- ill scan the wiring diagrams i have & post them here + e mail them to you if you want, ill need your E mail adress.

Mike- if the truck has a 5 speed & if you dont need it ill take it if you have time to yank it. I believe Ecology this weekend is half off so it may only cost $50-$70. Other than that im good, thankx.
