Heat is heat so weather it flows one way or another is like the taste of a sandwich eaten upside down ........................ ? :o First post of the day and strong coffee......

but if you eat your sandwich upside diown, all the flavour falls out.

btw, the 'S' hose is the upper and the longer hose is the lower. But, it doesnt matter which way the water flows, as long as it transfers heat. Also the upper 'S' hose is no longer avialable from nissan (discontinued). They do still make the lower hose, although its not the braided type, but still the same shape. For the 'S' hose youll need to find one at a local parts store, youll need 3/4 from the block to 5/8 to the core.

I sent the dealership an email looking for both heater hoses and the pcv hose using the part #'s found on ratsun. Their response was that all 3 were no longer available.

To the best of my knowledge, heater hoses from Nissan are NLA, No Longer Available.  you can make one, see the post above.  One issue you will find is that the connections on the engine are 12MM (9/16 inch) and the heater are 1/2 inch (13 mm).  Most hoses I have found do not have the different size ends.  I have not had good luck making a 1/2 inch hose go over a 9/16 connection, or a 9/16 hose seal on a 1/2 connection.

I have found a short metal adapter that is 9/16 on one end, and 1/2 on the other end.  Using that adapter you solve the size problem.

I have also found a 9/16 hose that has a 90 degree bend that fits the front engine connection, and nicely has the bend just behind the L engine.  the metal adapter can be fitted there, and a second piece of 1/2 hose, with a 90 degree bend,  completes the connection to the heater.  this get you the long heater hose.

The short "s-bend" heater hose can be made in the same manner.

I would give you parts numbers for hoses, but I have to leave for work in about 5 minutes.

9/16" is coming off the engine so even if I used/made a 1/2" hose I wouldn't be able to connect it to the block?  Does the OEM hose have different diameters on each end or is it all 9/16"?

I ask because the OP in that thread says he used 1/2" all around and it installed without issue so confused abut the 9/16".

The Nissan part number I have on the package is, B7021-B2000.

The end that goes onto the heater core is slightly smaller than the end that goes onto the block under the fuel pump.

NLA and nowhere to be found on the net.  You got a spare?  Interested in selling it?

DanielC, this the adaptor you talking about?
