Josh K.
That's not good :( Maybe that's why I measured the depth to the face before ordering 13mm long screws :) 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I love it when machinists and fabricators start talking fastener length. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I always measure my fasteners before stuffing them in a hole... I wonder if this car will ever be done? Jeff almost talked me into buying a S13 Coupe (he was supposed to talk me out of it) that was exactly like my old one. I was close but then decided I could use that money to PAINT MY 510!!! Anywho... I WILL work on this car today. Gotta button up the driver side quarter. I did buy sheet metal for the back seat deck. Just gotta get busy. I wanna do some donuts.... 1 Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
Resist the temptation! We are all hungry for donuts! There will be some donuts soon.... S13's will still be there when this ones done. And you won't want them anymore I know. I love the S13 but I don't need another daily. I only need a weekend street terror... So I got the driver quarter on today. Both quarters are attached for the first time in six years.. Next is the rear speaker deck. Drilled and test mounted the garnish. Yes sir! 5 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
I Know I've probably asked you twice already, but... Rabbit flares? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
MK2 Flares Front, MK1 Flares Rear. Rears are swapped left to right Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
MK2 Flares Front, MK1 Flares Rear. Rears are swapped left to right I'll try to remember this time... ^_^ Any particular reason you didn't do MK1 all around? Still waffling on flares for my 1200 sedan, but if I do, they'll be steel. I really dig how yours look... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Who am I kidding, I dig everything about this car... 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
MK2 has a little more flare and boxyness. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Either works though. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
MK2 has a little more flare and boxyness. Either works though. Leaning towards the MK1. Really wish I could find some reproduction Dodge Omni fenders, but those dried up long ago. As well as any Omnis in the junkyard... Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
The omnis are pretty big. I think the MK2's had a bigger wheel opening then the MK1's also. I'll double check this weekend. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
The omnis are pretty big. Yeah they are. B) Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Making progress. Lots of fitting. Once the trunk pan is welded in I'll cut out the spare tire well and replace with a flat panel. Getting closer. I also added another v-band clamp for ease of exhaust removal. 5 Quote Link to comment
Niz16
Still loving this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just a quick question on that last pic, where you have gone to a coil over setup do you do anything to strengthen the arms? , is it even needed? its not something ive seen done in my neck of the woods but the set up looks amazing hey !!!!!!!!!!!! Josh K.
Thanks :) Only thing I did was add a sleeve over the inside "washer" on the shock mount. This sleeve is welded around the washer and then around the sleeve where it mates to the control arm. This gets rid of the bend point in the shaft between the control arm and washer. Josh K.
I did manage to go out in the garage today and rework my tranny mount for more exhaust clearance. It was rubbing after weld out. Fitting 3" exhaust under a 510 while maintaining ground clearance is a challenge... Quote Link to comment

I'm not surprised to hear it needs some adjustments. 1 Quote Link to comment
