scooter stuff
I can't wait to see the Anvil. I'm leaning towards that color for my Mk1 Mini racer. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Yeah I'm pretty excited. The lighting isnt very good in my shop so we'll see. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Muscles are a little tight. Should be shooting high build later today. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
High build primer is on. Tomorrow I'll sand and fill again, shoot high build once more. Saturday wet sand, epoxy primer and then color..... What a process... 4 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
And that's why most engine bays get painted flat black. Lookin good Josh keep it up! 2 Quote Link to comment
Trophy24
Painted engine bays look so nice. It will match the detail you have going on the engine already. Keep it up! 1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
What's this car named? I need to know what to be moaning late at night. Fucking great progress 3 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Thanks guys. It would be much easier if the car wasn't banged up so much. Every inch of that bay shows the battle scars of 30 years racing... Its gonna be as good as it can be without huge amounts of filler. Some of the damage will still show. Call it the mark of history... 2 Quote Link to comment
Dantheman
Looks nice. Did you seam seal the open gaps. I'm stripping my bay and under side. Envious of your progress. Quote Link to comment
Trophy24
I had to make the same choice with mine. My car has been around too. I like to think of that stuff as status! Quote Link to comment
Draker
Nice work man. Keep plugging away and it will be killer!! I'm sure your hands and arms are already dead. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
First coat of high build is sanded. Now for some touch up filler and another coat of high build. Then I can go home until tomorrow. Hopefully I can then sand, wet sand, epoxy primer, color, relax.... My hands hurt and my finger tips are raw... 5 Quote Link to comment
scooter stuff
No reason to wet sand, it actually does more harm than good. If you cut tour primer with 10% reducer, it will lay down much smoother & save you hours of sanding. 2 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I did cut it down and sprayed it light so I wouldn't get runs. I'll look into that. Here's the final spray of high build. Letting it dry overnight and tomorrow will be the big day!!! 4 Quote Link to comment
scooter stuff
Sweet! I'm looking forward seeing it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Looks nice. Did you seam seal the open gaps. I'm stripping my bay and under side. Envious of your progress. I'm going to right before the epoxy sealer/color. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Paint is laid. Done and done! Could be better, could be much worse :) I'm pretty happy! Can't wait to see it in better light. It turns almost a light blue. 3 Quote Link to comment
Duke
Looks awesome. Great job. Is this the color you plan on using for the whole car? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Yes. I wanted something that was kinda dark and industrial but lightens up in the sun. Should show the body lines while still being aggressive :) 4 Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
Thanks :) It looks way darker in person. The camera lightens it up a bit. Looks almost dark gray in bad lighting. Quote Link to comment
