I ordered the epoxy primer and a base color to tint with.

 

Here's my range of color options for the summer... Gonna shoot for close to the Jeep Anvil in the engine bay. Might change the whole car to purple this winter...

I'm going to leave the cage bare metal and shoot a clear later. I think painting it would be too much color and loose the rawness of the cage.

Time to seam seal, kitty hair the quarter to roof line, do some rough filler work and prime inside of decklid and hood. The I can hang all the panels and shoot it once again. Hopefully end of month I can have windows in and start reassembly.

Thanks! Now that all the "not so fun" stuff is done I'm kicking ass. It's super motivating to actually make it pretty and know it will be on the road soon!

Moving along.. need to spray a coat of epoxy sealer and then another round of filler.

Yeah I had to shrink the panel a lot and it sank in slightly. I never claimed to be a metal worker or a body man.. just gonna do the best I can

I wish. I would love to have all the proper tools and technique to work metal. I cut metal, not shape it

My goal was get the inside of the panels sealed up and ready to mount. I got it done..

 

First I rolled her outside to intimidate the neighbors.

 

 

Then it was time to finish stripping metal... No more paint stripper for me???

 

 

All primed.

 

 

Trunk lid has too much rust in the rear seam. I'm hoping I can score one at Canby. Maybe James can bring one from Datsunville... It will work for now but I need a new one before final paint.

 

I'm hoping to have windows in and the car driving by mid next month. I think that will allow time for a bunch of good shake down runs before Canby. I don't want to get towed home...

Spent like 3 hours going through this thread. I was getting kind of bummed cuz their were a ton of pics photobucket wasn't showing. Glad to see that at the end they are there. This car, this work of art is incredible Josh. Just wanted to chime in and thank you for the crazy work ethic. It's truly a labor of love. So sick!!! Keep going Man!
