Dave is this your dogleg? You had a post a long time ago about an unidentified tranny. Did it turn out to be the dogleg you have now??

It has a Z car mount on it, was it for a Z car?

Yup, you can see the 63A in the picture, just like my trans... Boy, these longtail doglegs are popping up all over the place! ;)

Be sure to post up when you find someplace to rebuilt it, or somehwere that sells the parts to rebuild it. I'd like to rebuild mine someday. I did come across a place that sells a bearing kit, or a bearing&synchro kit, not gears though.

Shit Mike how the Fuck did you remember that?

It is a 63a stamped tranny. So given conventional wisdom it IS a Dogleg.

The 810/910 Maxima is based on the 280Z car chassis so maybe that's a Maxima tranny mount!!! I remember someone saying it looked like it was a Z car mount (and it does) so no one thought different right?

The only reason I brought it up is because I have the picture labeled 'phatdave's mystery tranny' and noticed it looked familiar and wanted the label correct.

I'm hoping that this fella will send me a picture of his dogleg. It's a long tail but fits a Z series engine!!!!!!!!!

Who's dogleg?

w/ the tranny in hand ive gotten rebuild quotes from $300 - $700

i think the $$ difference is between who would do it and who wanted $$$ to do it

$300 sounds like a pretty sweet deal...

Who's dogleg?

This guy on another forum. He's having problems with a replacement tranny he got for his Z series motor. When he installed it, he found that reverse was now above first and he no longer had the H pattern. If he posts any pics I'll pass them on. Z series dogleg...'80-'81 HL 510??... what next???
