NWOleman
Ok what gear ratio's did the 610 wagon's come with? Also did the 620 pickups have the same rearends? I thought about putting a lower rearend gear ratio in my 73 610 wagon if i ever find a 5 speed is why im asking. I know where i can get a pickup rearend for free if this helps explain why i'm asking. Thanks NWOleman Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Most 620s were 4.375 but the '79 standard did come with a 4.11. The 720 also shares these ratios and some lower ones. The earlier 521 had 4.88 and 4.65s as well as the 4.375 depending on engine. The wagon axle won't fit the truck rear ends but the side gears with the right number of splines can be removed from the wagon and swapped into the truck rear. Just noticed it's a 610 so the above applies only if the 610 and 510 wagons had the same rear axle. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Did some digging. The 610 wagon used the same 'live axle' as the 510 wagon. The 510 with 4 speed manual had a 3.70 rear and the auto had a 3.889, so we can assume the 610 was the same. The 610 and the 620 had the H190 rear end. Quote Link to comment
