Ok where'd you find the wiper linkage bushing assortment number 49447? I think there's a store I need to visit in the near future

 

I think I got those at oreilly, but all the major parts places carry a similar assortment.

Battery tie down came in.

 

 

 

 

Got the hinge points sealed up and the hood back on. Dipped the end of the hinges and the shoulder bolts in the grease before installation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Figured out that the solenoid was at a funky angle and the side loading was what led to the failure.

 

Was able to just redrill the upper hole and get everything lined up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then I went for a spin, even got to test the wipers. :D

I still have to do some brake work, but it is good enough for santa to drive :D

Got my truck back from Santa.

Brake stuff came in and it is slowly getting installed. :)

Got the rears mounted. I was going to make a bracket, but got lazy. BEEBANI to the rescue lol. 
 
I still need to come up with a lever arm for the e-brake, but it looks simple enough once I get there. Unfortunately I now have to replace the brand new clutch master that I just installed. :( 
 
Anyways here are the pics I have. I just realized I don't have a pic of the finished master...it looks like stock anyways :)

Every reservoir I've checked from Datsun/Nissan vehicles have all interchanged on this style of m/c's......so it's really easy to find used reservoirs.

Yep, I just swapped over the old reservoirs from the stock master.

I'm pretty sure the '78 280z was a disc/drum setup for those guys that don't have rear discs.  I doubt it would make much difference either way, but those other years are disc/disc.

oh wow, out of stock at Rock Auto. I have seen a couple of these master cylinders in the last year in wrecking yards. I didn't buy any of them.

Unfortunately I think those cars are crushed by now.

If you use an 81 B310 booster you will have access to many more master cylinders as the 310 booster is a horizantal master cylinder mount.  You will have to extend the brake rod for this booster.

I just bled per the service manual. The process is different than one would assume, which might explain all the issues people have. I know I was never doing it correctly. :lol:

Took the truck for a drive to pick up parts from the laser cutter. The brakes work fantastic.

The clutch is pissing me off.  I have had my hands on three new aftermarket clutch masters and all of the push rods are too short. I got that all handled and now the slave is leaking. :rolleyes:
