I can't find any place that sells L16 pistons(I found 1 place but their forged and $500 bucks) Are the stocker pistons Flat tops??? I haven't taken the head off yet any suggestions?? and where should I get rebuild parts? Dealership??

The cylinder wear will determine if you need to bore to the next oversize piston. If the block is within spec the old pistons can be re-used as long as they are in good shape without visible scuffing or broken ring lands.

L16 pistons have a 7cc dish. As Hainz said L24 pistons can be substituted and they are flat top. If you have to re bore because the block is worn and don't mind taking 1mm off the walls, you could run 85mm L18 pistons with a 4.36 cc dish.

How bout used L24 pistons??? if in GOOD shape? are the L24 rods any stronger than L16 rods?? I would like to do a High compression L16 with a peanut A87 and maybe a L20 cam or aftermarket cam..I'm lookin' for around 10:1 compression and a lumpy cam,a sidedraft carb and done!!!

L16 with 85mm 4.36cc dish L18 pistons = 1,672 cc motor with a 9.52 compression!

the rods are the same in L16/24

get ARP rod bolts.

I would do a L20 as the cost would be the same. But IM a L motor guy. I like to see people saving and rebuilding L motors. But worrying about hicomp on a L16 when you can just get a L20 will still be cheaper power.

I guess it depends on your clutch(size200 or 225mm) set up what you have lying around also.

Sorry,I Don't like L20b don't ask why,I also hate 350 chev (cuz everone has one and I just don't like them) I love my L16 It rev's and goes really good!!!! If ya set up everything up right you can get ANY motor to go good.
