Courtesy Datsun is still a used car lot, but the new car center is now a Meineke muffler shop

buildings/shops are STILL standing

but the place is just used for some slimey used car lot

Great photos of beautiful classic ships!  This was back in the day that a seaman had time in port to explore.  Nowadays, the cars load and unload in hours!

This ship is built to load/unload cars.  A purpose built car carrier.  Even before the first deck is empty it is already being loaded with another cargo.

 

The ships in the previous posts are re purposed bulk carriers.  Those white things on the bow are cranes for loading into the different holds.  They have been modified to carry cars but still nowhere as efficient as todays ships.
