datsunfreak
Got some work done on the daily driver beater 510... Replaced the lower valence that was smashed in and put a new bumper on it. :D Notice something unusual on that grill??? ;) Ever seen one of these? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Here's how the front end looked before... Day 1: Then after some tweaking: Even though the new one is the wrong color, it looks WAAAAAAAAAAAY better... :D Quote Link to comment
69FJWagon
not really fan of the 4 door (exept for the wagons :D) but that car is sweet I love the blue and the dark wheels looks great nice repair work too. I almost bought a NOS stripe kit like that one on your car I love the way it looks but the bidding got a little out of control. hmm the girlfriend wants a 510 maybe a 4 door is needed soon. and no I have never seen a grill emblem like that what does it say? datsunfreak
That bumper is to nice! So you daily a dime? Bumper should be nice, it's brand new!!! :P And yes, I have had a daily driver 510 on and off for about 12 years now. Been driving this one as my only transpo since May. O and I've never seen a grille ornament such as that It only came on the Taiwan 510s. :D I got this one new from a Nissan dealer there. In case you can't read it, it says Yue Loong. In Taiwan, Datsun 510s were called a Yue Loong 902. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
not really fan of the 4 door Neither was I until I owned one. And this car was on it's way to the crusher when I got it. Couldn't let that happen... :D I almost bought a NOS stripe kit like that one on your car I love the way it looks but the bidding got a little out of control. This one is a reproduction I had made. The guy who made mine sells them for something like $25-28 a pair? if you want them, shoot me an email and I'll put you in touch with him. Quote Link to comment
Jason
Nice going John! I love that Taiwanese "Yue Long" marker. Quote Link to comment

Icehouse
I can't believe someone was going to crush it! Besides the front it looks very clean. Where did you get the bumper? Not that I have bumper brackets or anything :D So you don't daily the 1200? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I can't believe someone was going to crush it! Funny story. It was one-owner car, owned by a retired school teacher. She wrecked it on the left front about 5-6 years ago. It had the fender and hood replaced and painted on that corner. Then last year she wrecked it on the right front and the body shop couldn't find any parts to fix it so she abandoned it. I was over at a shop next door to the body shop and saw it parked out back. I asked if it was for sale and they told me they had just filed a lien on it, and as soon as the title arrived in the mail they were taking it to the scrap heap. :( I said NO, call ME when the title arrives. :D Besides the front it looks very clean. Where did you get the bumper? I don't know... I have like 6 or 7 of them... :D Every time I buy a car it usually comes with lots of spares. When I sell one, it doesn't go with those spares. So you don't daily the 1200? I take my two sons (8 and 5) to school every day, and the 1200 isn't terribly practical for that. :P Quote Link to comment

I take my two sons (8 and 5) to school every day, and the 1200 isn't terribly practical for that. :P haha Thats true :D When I was a kid I rode in the back of my dad's Carmengia all the time. He would pile all 4 of his kids into that little thing, it didn't have a back seat or seat belts. I remember getting pulled over in it once and my dad almost getting a ticket because of it. datsunfreak
So what did you pay for it? Cheap is all I'll say. :D 6 or 7  I guess with much less rain the chance of running into good bumpers is much higher. down here crash damage is the problem. I have a bunch of good fronts and only a few good rears (none are "spares"). :( Quote Link to comment
