It sold on eBay 3-4 years ago, was in the Pasco/Kennewick area then. I seriously considered buying it just for the novelty. Sold for something like $1000. It's had NOTHING done to it to rate the 7.5x price hike... and yes, it has the stock L16 in it.

 

Other than the color the conversion job wasn't half bad. But it needed a lot of work to make it nice again.

There was a limo conversion business in the Inglewood CA area several years ago. His "calling card" was a limo converted 510. "If I can convert that, your car should be no problem".

My brother has a picture (somewhere in a box in an attic or something), of this car back in 1988-91 out in vegas cruising the strip. Back then 510s were "dime a dozen" and, doing this to one wouldn't have been so strange...

It's funny seeing it show up in so many different palces over the years for sale. It was here in Spokane WA in the early 90's at a little crappy lot for about 2K back then, lol. Now it's made it's way all the way to Cali. It was pretty beat even back then. Still a pretty cool toy though, I almost bought it, but it needed too much work at the time. I like it, but way wrong color, lol
