nismo dr
don't tell my wife - she has an irrational policy about me hauling motors in the mini-van pulled the seat for no real reason other to see if there was anything hiding under it Quote Link to comment
izzo
Those ratsun stickers add at least 50 hp at the wheels! Not bad man, i like it! you think that paint would shine good with some buffing? Doesnt look like to much rust either, good find Quote Link to comment

Doesnt look like to much rust either, good find The dark blue is flaking off to reveal the factory light blue, will prob clean up some but will need paint eventually. pretty solid, all I can find is 2 small holes on the driver floor board. I've pounded all over and feels solid. Quote Link to comment

nukeday
What are your plans for an engine & suspension, that you'll want 4 wheel discs? Looks like a great start... PS - I think the 'no car guts' in the minivan thing is a universal code of 'wifedom'. Quote Link to comment
bonvo
where do you plan to drive this street or track and what are the cam specs and part number i called comp and told them what i had they said they dont make cams for it anymore Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
4 wheel disks are purely for me, I despise drums. (and i picked up a pair of fullyloaded reman rear calipers for $60) the cam is definately more than I had planned, I stumbled on it and had to buy it but I havent decided if I'm going to use it yet - would need to find a sss head and really go aggressive to truly get the benefit I believe. I havent' crunched the #'s yet part #: 79-131-4 Edited August 30, 2009 by nismo dr Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
PS - I think the 'no car guts' in the minivan thing is a universal code of 'wifedom'. LOL.....not in my world! Paula drove me to Eugene to pick up a roadster engine....we hauled it home in her van. I've brought two roadster engines hom in the van. Once you pull the seats, they leave awesome anchor points for the tiedowns :) Quote Link to comment
b210in
man, and i thought i was the only one who's wife had a problem hauling shit in the back of the family minivan. Quote Link to comment

nismo dr
Got my block back from the machine shop! Eager to start building, but I didn't bring tools home this weekend, that's what sucks about being a mechanic by trade - whenever you need a tool its sitting in your box far far away. So I painted the block. Edited October 5, 2009 by nismo dr Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
Put together the short block. I forgot to bring home my 10mm allen socket from work, so I can't torque the head yet. Looks a lot better than the bare block that has been staring at me from the engine stand. Quote Link to comment

nismo dr
Engine together for the most part. Need to find an oil pan gasket (every place I go wants me to buy an entire gasket kit). Need to figure out what I'm doing for a carb. Need to find where my fuel pump spacer walked off to .
