philcas1987 Posted July 8, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 8, 2010 my 510 has more than exeded my expectations of it. its very tough. handeled the canby autox very well. held together and stood its ground at the drags. 15.2 quarter mile. not bad for a tired single slammer. and did not overheat while waiting inline for 45 minutes for the cruise in movies. but my engine/tranny are tired now. time for a new set. i have a rebuilt short block, but thats it. next tranny im getting its getting a rebuild by me. the heat soak in it is terrible. need to explore options on some kind of heat barrier on the floor boards. did some work on it. its always going to be a project car. function over form. its a dd and needs to do everything i demmand of it. no fancy paint or weekend driver. at least thats the way i see this 510. its the last one i will own that is if it doesnt get wrecked. gf wants a wagon. but thats her deal. replaced the passeger lower hinge for a better one from my 4 door serviced the rear end with amsoil. having way too much fun. dont want to ruin the r160 got a crusty driver door panel from ssr20det510. i used trim screws to hold it in place. trust me there was no other way. got me savage washers!!!!! finished my tailight gaskets.made from foam,and got a passeger side inner trim piece. sorry james my car would look wierd with an nos inner trim ring. philcas1987 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Report Share Posted August 13, 2010 well i scored this fron a member on nwn. cant recall his name but he has a FULLY built single slammer. machine shop redid the entire bottom end. story goes he finished it up and dropped it in his 240sx. cheaper to get sr20 than to finish this kat. parted it out. nobody wants a single cam. so i got it cheap. dirt cheap! my plans is to go TURBO!!!!. but im breaking it in n/a. 0 miles! and turbo drain already welded to the pan! fuck the penzoil filter!!! installed a s-afc 2 i got fror cheap on cl. bastard said it worked. opened it up and it looked like it was dipped is soda. nothing electrical cleaner,blowdrier, and soldering iron cant fix. 1 Quote Link to comment
