makya
Ok, it's been awhile since I've swapped or rebuilt motors, so I need a reminder on how to get the bottom bolts on the exhaust header? I can't get a socket over the bolt head running it under the intake, and I can't get a ratchet in from the top(obviously). How do you do it? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
A spanner or box end/open end wrench. Quote Link to comment
makya
Crap, now I gotta take the smog pump back off so I can reach underneath. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
If this is a stock L20 exhaust its a pain in the ass to remove this stuff. Thats why I would install the L16 (521 or 5210 exhause manifold cause its ezer to get the lower bolt w/o angleing them in there and ruining the threads. or get a TOP END Performance short tube header(ceramic coat it also) Quote Link to comment
OL YELLER
or get a TOP END Performance short tube header(ceramic coat it also) Hainz..where can I get that header..do they have a web site..do you remember the price range....?????????? Quote Link to comment
makya
yeah, I'd like to know too. For the 4x though, the Dually has to smog, so I can't change it out unless it's CARB approved. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
http://www.racetep.com/510start.html you need to get it powder cosated cause the paint is CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!! you could find a 510 exhause manifold but need a y pipe to fit a 4x and Racnjasn did this. as for CARB approved I know nothing of these things. the header is more for ease of install /removeal than true performance gains if a L16 exhaust manifold is not avail with Y pipe I still run a L16 manifold on my beater with sidedrafts carbs Quote Link to comment
