LMFAO

Ken's working on the exhaust under the 510 and someone in a Camaro rolls up with a complement.

"Nice ride man! I drive by it every day, it's nice. Yeah, I'm a Beemer guy, I love'm".

Love'm? Well, maybe not so much...

now she’s at the muffler shop to cut the pipe and make sure it’s not in a bind and any stress and no rattles.

Found some mirrors I had planed to put on the Goon so I have them together now to use soon. Also found a good 2 cylinders into each down pipe collector tube exhaust manifold I had hid away I’ll start to get it ready to coat at the same time I do the one I took off the Goon.

Thought I’d put up some links to videos as the Goon progressed to now.

befor the elec match box dizzy install.

After matchbox dizzy install.

Befor exhaust manifold swap and exhaust down pipe patch.

As she is now way better running and sounding, I think I’ll have to check her valve lash adjustments next soon.

The other day when I was in the Goon I wondered if the heater fan and controls still worked. I had redone it all before I the cutch broke way back an it was parked for ever and ever. I had thought it might had all rusted and froze up but it was a little stiff it acutely worked so now I will have to hook up the heater core and be able to use it when it gets cold if I take it out.

Cleaned up and tried to straighten up some but now I can get to most of my wood working machines and the bench and the L20B motor block that I want to be able to assemble free up some space. I have some space to walk through the shop now at least.

Well, today.. I stared at my 1971 510 2dr... As I have for the last week or so. It's here, and in my driveway now. Rescued from the spot it's sat for several years.. I've owned it for over 20 years, and have never driven it. That's about to change. The floors have gotten a bit iffy, some leaves got in there and worked their magic.  All patchable. A tiny bit of rust in the lower quarters, but not bad at all.  Rear pinch weld area is gone. Again, fixable.  I will start a build thread on this car tomorrow. And start taking oics of the piles of NOS parts that came with it. My friend Gary, who sold me the car, passed away not long ago.  It won't be a big dollar build, for now. The car is nice enough for me now, as it sits, but I want to make it better. Gary wanted a "race car for the street", as they built them in the 70's.  Well, Gary... This one's for you.

It's on

Installed the T3 Wagon Leaf Spring kit. I like it. Installed pretty straight forward. Noticeably stiffer and cornering is better. Cruising and freeway speeds are steady and smooth. Seems like any axle wrap is gone and also haven't been hitting the differential on the tunnel when hitting hard bumps or potholes.  I added the 1" blocks and it made the rear sit at the same height as my stock spring with 2" blocks. I am using Tokico shocks ( OE spec) and looking at swapping to a shorter stroke shock.
