What do you think of the process and results?

Certainly looks nice from here!

Went very well. Took about ten minutes to trim down the high spots, then just scrubbed it nice and clean, ran a fat bead of the silicone adhesive on the perimeter of the cover, then slid it onto the pad.

It overlaps the edge of the rear (there's a lip back there), so I just used a bunch of these to clamp it into place (on tthat same rear lip), then I left it that way. Going to reinstall tomorrow and see how well "stuck on" it is.

Oh, that is definitely an occasion when the rule of "pics or it didn't happen" should apply.  Sounds like an awesome idea, we wanna see.

OK, gotta ask. Why are there two fuel pump mounting rings in your tank? Are you running dual fuel pumps?

Picked up my gas tank after being cleaned and sealed.  Just needs a new fuel pump.

They must have used the same coating on yours as the place used on mine when I had 4 tanks done a couple of years ago. Had that same color to it. I was gonna ask what car that tank was for cause I only have one sending unit hole on mine. I see you have two holes. Good luck on it.

No, just one fuel pump. The setup is from a twin turbo 300zx.  It had the fuel pump and a level sending unit that had a hose running to the fuel pump.  Not exactly sure what it was doing, but it was on the other side of the hump in the gas tank from the fuel pump. So I figured it couldn't hurt to have it, though maybe it was working as sort of a secondary pickup, but could be totally wrong.  And figured if I was already cutting one hole in the top of my tank, it can't hurt to cut two and put them both in my stock tank.

I'm hoping the coating is good, seems like I shouldn't have any more leaking problems. but car is just a KA powered dime. See answer above lol.

So far driving the 72 Sedan around, had to pay for the rest of the roof I had put on the house and garage. All those things like Tankers got now I'll never be able to afford them. And the car is running great!

Too busy this weekend, too bad because it's been a nice one just hot. Got a week off soon so got plans to do some work on the the 70 sedan and 72 Goon. And drive the 72 sedan. Really got to get organized down stairs ( maybe get one of those big tool boxes and organize all my tools in one place. Sitting here thinking about the Biloxi 510 that is all apart.

Want to really do this one up, The sad part is I have all the goods for it just no time, been dreaming about it for 20 years. Anyway I'll keep dreaming a little longer.
