datsunfreak
Always though about doing one... how would these look on a 510? Quote Link to comment
spiffinspudater
I dont know how it would look. I cant give a good vote because I dont think I would be fair. I dont think I would like it as IMO it would kinda ruin the look of the sun. To each their own. I just want to see it if it gets done. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
i am 50-50 on this one only because i have seen one with daytons and it looked really bad I saw that too, at Shasta forever ago. But it looked l ike shite because of all the tacky stuff he had done to the car, not just wheels. I'm talking clean stock look, just lowered and wires. Kinda the way you see most '64 Impalas done up... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
And we're talking about a 4dr (or wagon?), probably bagged... :D Quote Link to comment

datsun dreamer
Back in the day, in the 80's my friends used to roll with daytons on the older chevy's(hell they still do!)..My brother had some on his 620 and it didn't look to bad but that was 20+ years ago, I say put them on and see what they look like...They worked for the minitrucks!!!!! yello620
personal opinion here, but i think they look terrible. Just never understood the wire wheel craze. Jason Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
All wheels were wire once (well spoked anyways) Got that 3 wheel motion baby!:D Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Im running 13 x 7 wires on my HB. Look good when clean but hard to clean right. Its all personal taste as far as how you want your car/truck to look. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
That's EXACTLy what I was wanting. Thanks!!! Got a BIG version of that pic? :D Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Sorry thats the only 1 i have. Notice the 720 mirrors & 68 side markers :D Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Notice the 720 mirrors & 68 side markers :D Yeah, I noticed the 720 mirrors. And those are also '69 side markers. And rear '69 side markers. And a '69 grill. My guess is it's a '69. ;) Quote Link to comment
doord521
I like wires but they have their place. I don't know about a 510, but then again it would be different... The best thing I found to clean them when I had my Lincoln was simple green... It was so nice being able to hit a few switches then take off my front wheels... Who needs a jack when you can do a standing 3 wheel....I would have to agree with you that it is a 69... It even says SIX NINE on the plate.... LOL!!!! Quote Link to comment
69FJWagon
IMO....no way!!! they look like DOO DOO. sorry :( 1 Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
a 4 door 510 not a wagon I think with the wire baskets it would make it so early 80's cheesy it would look cool! I saw that too, at Shasta forever ago. But it looked l ike shite because of all the tacky stuff he had done to the car, not just wheels. I'm talking clean stock look, just lowered and wires. Kinda the way you see most '64 Impalas done up... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
a 4 door 510 not a wagon I think with the wire baskets it would make it so early 80's cheesy it would look cool! Yeah, it would be my orange 4dr '71. And the ride height would be stock rear, down about 1.5" in the front. Maybe bagged, not sure. Always wanted a bagged one. I wish i knew someone with some wheels like this I could "try on". I would hate to spend $600 to find out I hate it. Been there... :P Might try to test fit them in photoshop soon... Icehouse
It's not my thing BUT! anything low is cool in my book :D I work in the HVAC biz, once we worked at a car restore shop. They had a mid 60's Jag with wires.... everything was painted black, no chrome! Including the rims, it was my favorite car there. To me anything can look good if its done right. I could say no dime would every look good with wires, I know someone could prove me wrong. Yeah, I noticed the 720 mirrors. And those are also '69 side markers. And rear '69 side markers. And a '69 grill. My guess is it's a '69. ;) I have heard the 68's are a little bit different but don't know exactly how... Quote Link to comment
