RacnJsn95
I originally bought this 300zx thinking I was going to put the vg30e in my 620, but the more I look at it, and play with it, the more I just want to be able to drive it the way is it. I attempted to start it today, but it didn't happen. Everything electrical seems to work. The car will turn over, but won't fire... I pulled the coil wire off the dizzy cap, and it doesn't seem to get spark when the car is turning over, but if I let the key off the "start" position, after a couple seconds of sitting, it will spark once. The radiator hose right by the distributor blurst, and the kid I got it from hasn't been able to start it since. That was last week... So I pulled the distributor cap off and there was water in the dizzy, up to the bottom of that gold dust cover. So I pulled the distributor out, pulled it apart, cleaned/dried it out, put it back together, back in the car, and it still does the same thing. I'm positive I put the distributor back in on the right spot too, so that's not it. I have 3 connections that aren't connected to anything, I can't see where they go here are the pics of them... ^This one worries me the most... Can't find anything that isn't plugged in around any of these three pics... Think that has something to do with it? Quote Link to comment
nismopu
neither one of those plugs is gonna be your problem especially the one in the engine bay which only affects the turbo cars, nissan used the same harness in both versions. The one in your interior is similar to a diagnostic port which mean your car is probly later than 4/87 and thats a very good thing! Your issue with the non start could be a number of things but I think its most likely your power transistor which is located next to the coil and uses the same plug as your mystery engine bay plug. Check the resistance across your two outer most wires and it should be like 10k on the transistor side? Another thing to check is the CAS which is located inside the dizzy itself and if you remove the dizzy again and spin it in your hand with the key in the ON position you should hear all the injectors clicking. If you dont then thats porbly your issue and would require replacing the whole dizzy. J-tek here on the board actually had his die as he was backing out of his driveway in the middle of the street, lol. peace. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
If I saw the distributor full of water I would just replace it with a used one first thing. Quote Link to comment
