Icehouse
Why not build your own? Quote Link to comment
Bleach
Icehouse needs another short size Z shaft to make his kit. :D Quote Link to comment
fiveoneohray
Jeff you know me..... Time=money you can either spend time researching and fabbing or you can earn the money and just buy them, and know they have been used and tested so you know they work flawlessly. I watch and talk to people spending hours and hours making something. They didnt add up all the hours making them not realizing that they could have just worked and purchased them. Especially you Jeff I know how much you make you should be buying everything! ha ha ha either way i guess its the same to me. Less hassle for me to buy them. There is always the accomplishment of making them. You cant put a value on that. I dont have the resources to make them clean enough. Quote Link to comment
69FJWagon
WOW only $900 bucks thats a deal I may have to look into those... i know i will break the half shafts on my 510 eventually when I get it back on the road just waiting on my ecu and injectors for my FJ20 turbo from jim wolf. I think Mario sell his kit for over 2000 bucks for his cv shafts  so 900 sound great to me :D:D Quote Link to comment
fiveoneohray
I have seen a set uninstalled in person and they are hot! I will be installing them on a coupe pretty soon. Will let you know how they go. Although Im pretty sure they will go smoothly. Quote Link to comment
///FiveOneOh
VW beetle CVs :) looks liek it'd pretty easy to get the adaptors spun out of some alum... Quote Link to comment
RacnJsn95
For $900 I'd probably buy that set also! That seems like a pretty swingin' deal, I bet even if you tried to do it yourself, you'd still come up close to that in the end. If you can buy it for cheaper than it would cost you to make it yourself, might as well buy it. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
I understand 1hrs=$ I hate installing furnaces so 1hrs=hell haha that's basically over a weeks work after taxes. My conversion will be much cheaper, if I had a tig it would also be sexy :) once I get my car on the road I'm going to restart the cv project. I don't think 900 is to bad a price. I would just rather have a r180 lsd, a set of byrons brackets and cv's for 900 :) actually it may be a closer to 1k. If mine don't work out you can bet I will buy a set :) Quote Link to comment
inline4
so what exactly does a cv conversion do? easier serviceability? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Makes everything work a bit smoother (less vibration), especially on a lowered car. Also, the right CVs will make it stronger. Quote Link to comment

And to paraphrase Todd at WCR: Better angularity than u-joints Eliminates u-joint related vibrations Transmits up to 3% more power to the wheels 3.5 pounds lighter per side (7 lb reduction of rotating mass) Quote Link to comment
