that's gonna be a sweet ride!
the car would handle better if you move the battery above or in front of the rear axel. It would look better too. the problem is that it should be fully enclosed then. just in case of a roll over. we don't want those juices poured on us.
or a gell cell battery. like optima.
if you leave it. maybe cover it with sheet metal just to keep crudd off and prevent something from flying up and cracking it.
Awesome car tho. can't wait to see some action shots.

A Marine store sells good hard plastic battery cases with holes so you can lock the lid closed. Ryan bought one for the battery he relocated to the bed of his truck. That'll work fine for putting it inside your car.
Thank you Ted!

Where did you get the car again? Is it from Japan? The pics look like it's RHD and I noticed the non-US bumpers.

And what makes it "street illegal"? If it has seat belts and working lights you should be fine, right? There's nothing illegal about RHD.

Well, one at a time here:

RHD = Legal

Cage = Legal

L20b = Legal (stock engine)

Side drafts = Technically not legal

But I think you are safe since they don't require emissions tests for a car this old now. You are "supposed to" have all emissions stuff in place (stock carb, etc.) but no one even knows what's "correct" anymore. Doubtful a cop would.

But I'm 34, not 17. I get hassled by the police about once every 3 years... ;)

Take it to a place that does inspections, they can tell you EXACTLY what you need and don't need.

RHD = Right Hand Drive

Those carbs are side draft Webers. ;)
